Insurance
As of 14th January 2005, the Financial Services Authority has deemed that all mobility retailers in the country are henceforth barred from selling insurance, recommending insurance, explaining policy details, or even introducing customers to insurance companies.
So barmy is this new regulation that, although you are allowed to pick up an insurance brochure which we may display in our showroom, we are not allowed to physically hand it to you, post it to you, or put one in your new scooter basket.
Heaven forbid, (or more precisely the FSA forbids), we help you fill in the forms!
How crazy is that?
As you may appreciate, this new regulation is a great inconvenience for all mobility retailers, who historically have helped arrange insurance for their customers. At £49.50 per annum for good comprehensive cover, (theft, accidental damage, third party risks, etc.), most of our customers agreed that this was great value and appreciated our arranging their insurance at the time of purchase.
Quite who this new regulation is supposed to benefit is beyond us.
Answers please on the back of a £50 note to A1 Mobility!
